DM Light – How to capture IP packets for a specific CID (CID 2 / CID 5)?

Hello,

We are currently testing IMS/VoLTE on a Calliope 2 GC02S1-EU2, running UE9.1.0.0 / LR9.1.0.0-64547 with the Orange operator profile.

With an Orange France SIM (HPLMN 20801), LTE attachment and IMS registration work correctly (SIP,REGISTERED).

With our IoT roaming SIM (HPLMN 90131), LTE attachment is successful and the IMS PDN is established, but IMS registration remains stuck in:

+IMSSTATE: SIP,REGISTERING

We are therefore trying to capture the IMS IP/SIP traffic using DM Light. We can record an EVT trace and export IPv4/IPv6 PDUs to PCAP, but we need to capture the traffic associated with specific PDP contexts, in particular CID 2 and CID 5.

We were advised to capture using:

sniffpacket cid=2 dir=both
sniffpacket cid=5 dir=both

Could someone explain how to select/change the CID used for packet capture in DM Light?

Is sniffpacket a command that must be executed through DM Light, a debug console, or another Sequans tool/interface? If so, what is the correct procedure to capture both UL and DL packets for CID 2 and CID 5 and export them to PCAP/Wireshark?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards,

Hi

Attach the DM record mask file for your capturing.

file1: DM_record_mask_CID2_CID5.dmrec => Both Cid 2 & Cid 5

file2: DM_record_mask_CID2.dmrec => Cid 2 only

file3: DM_record_mask_CID5.dmrec => Cid 5 only

Just change configuration, select file 1 or 2 or 3 ( depend on which cid you want to sniffer ),

and start recording.

After stop recording, you have EVT file, you can export to PCAP and check it by wireshark.

Attach the screen shot for your reference.

Best regards,

DM_record_mask_CID5.dmrec (388 Bytes)

DM_record_mask_CID2_CID5.dmrec (414 Bytes)

DM_record_mask_CID2.dmrec (388 Bytes)
