Hello Sequans team,
I have a question which may sound silly but how can I check if Cat 1bis is supported by the network in the country where I plan to use it?
Thanks in advance
John

Hello John,
I turned your question into a forum topic so others can benefit from it because it’s a great one.
LTE Cat 1bis and Cat 1 are fully integrated into the standard LTE network, so no special configuration is required from the network vendor to enable these services.
However, it’s important to consider the frequency bands permitted in the region where you plan to deploy and select a Cat 1bis module that supports those bands. Sequans offers a new Cat 1bis module designed as a “worldwide SKU,” meaning it covers nearly all regional bands within a single product variant.
Finally, you’ll need to subscribe to a data plan (via SIM cards that allow your module to connect to the network). The data plan details will confirm whether Cat 1bis is supported. These plans can be obtained either from local mobile network operators (MNOs) or mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs).
I hope this clarifies things.
Best Regards
Imad
