SQN9506 questions

Hi,

We are starting a design with the SQN9506 and I have some questions about its operation.

  1. Receiving during TX: can an RX path be scheduled to run during a TX slot, on the same frequency as an active TX (n77/n78), for TX observation
from an external coupler? Are there limits on sharing synthesizers between TX1/2 or TX3/4 and the RX at the same frequency?
  2. Supported mode: is there a supported feedback or observation mode, or reference macro (MEU) sequence, for this? Or only the internal TX
    calibration loopback?
  3. DC calibration window: the RX DC calibration runs 32 µs before each RX slot. Can it be disabled, or moved, for an RX used for observation during
TX slots? What happens if the input isn’t quiet during it?
  4. Fixed gain: can AGC be frozen and a fixed LNA/PGC gain set for observation slots? What input level do they recommend? We’d aim for about −30 dBm,
against P1dB −23 dBm at full gain and +4 dBm absolute maximum.
  5. Ports and streams: with 4 RX ports used for 4R in n78, can a 5th port, or one of the 4 time-shared through our RF switch, carry the observation
signal? Does that fit within 8 × 100 MHz on the JESD204 interface?
  6. Isolation: is the RX-to-TX isolation inside the chip high enough that TX leakage doesn’t swamp a −30 dBm observation signal on the same
    frequency?
  7. SDK support: which SDK version supports 4T4R in n77/n78 on the EVK?
  8. Can the TRXA–D T/R switches (trxXsel/trxen via the LM8335 expanders) be held in RX through TX slots? We’d use TXA–D as TX outputs and TRXA–D as RX inputs, with all TDD switching done by our external front end.

Thanks,

Raymond KNOPP
