GM02S AT command and firmware update issue's

Hi,

I am currently working with the Sequans GM02S module and I am encountering some issues with two AT commands related to LTE-M / NB-IoT configuration and band selection.

The first command, AT+SQNMODEACTIVE, returns ERROR for write, read, and test operations.

The second command, AT+SQNBANDSEL, returns ERROR when writing, but does return a response for read and test operations.

Using ATI, I get firmware version UE8.0.5.10, so I initially assumed the issue might be firmware-related. However, when I tried to update the module via the COM port using the SFU tool, the process consistently failed around 6–7%.

Is there another way to update the module if the issue is indeed coming from the firmware?

Hi Lionel,

The UE8.0.5.10 is LTE-M only. If you want to use +SQNMODEACTIVE, you need to upgrade your device to the latest LR8.2 SW release.

I recommend you to use the LR8.2.2.1-63493

To upgrade your device, you will have to strictly follow the procedure described in the latest SW release note: LR8.2.2.1_Release Note_GM02S_R02 in section 1.8.2

  • 1.8.2. Local Upgrade (over UART) from Previous LR8.0.X.Y or LR8.1.W.Z Releases

The upgrade method must be “raster” as there is a partition change from LR8.0 to LR8.2
