I forgot to connect SIM_DETECT pin on my board, or my SIM tray sometimes has a mechanical failure on SIM_DETECT. Is there any possibility to bypass the SIM_DETECT pin ?
Yes. On Sequans Cat 1bis, Cat M/NB-IoT modules, it is possible to enable the SIM polling mode.
In this configuration, the modem ignores the status of SIM_DETECT pin and periodically polls if a SIM card is present. The poll period is configurable from 1s to 30s.
Here is an example of SIM polling configuration with a period of 5s:
